Default Is there any reason to upgrade bios? - 03-27-2010, 02:38 PM

I have W7 and OSX set up to dual boot on my Mini10v and read that it's now possible to run the most recent bios update. Is there any benefits to upgrading the bios if everything is running well wit the a04 bios? Does the bios update make a big improvement?

My apologies if this has been posted I searched but didn't see anything.

If everything is working fine, then I wouldn't update.

I don't know what has changed in A06, but it's probably not worth the risk of bricking your computer if the update goes wrong.

With BIOS/Firmware updates I use the "if it aint broken dont fix it" mentality. Majority of the time I have found that BIOS updates are for new hardware support or minor fixes to things I would never use.

Read over the details on what are in the change and see if there is anything that benefits you. A04 is pretty solid I would stay with it.

Now I am currently running A06 (what mine shipped with) and have no issues. OSX loaded up using Netbook Installer 8.4 with no problems.

Thanks I feel that I pushed my luck downgrading and am not going to risk bricking it by upgrading it at this point unless it's absolutely necessary at some point in the future.

Thanks for the responses.
