I just bought this Dell Mini 10v and got it two days ago and the first time I power it up i got this blue screen error message.
*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error
*** The system has halted. ***

In fact I got this blue screen msg 2 of the 5 times I've booted up this netbook. this almost assures me this is a bad memory error or is this a bad design flaw for this model of Dell mini 10v? I'm wondering has anyone else seen this error. I found one post on this site that a guy listed having this blue screen error but that was it.

It's bad memory. I have never seen this error reported before in this forum. Contact Dell and get it replaced.

I just bought a refurb 10v from the Dell outlet. It displayed this error the first time I booted, booted fine after I held the power down and restarted. It boots fine about half the time. I chatted with Dell and they are sending me a box to mail it to them. 10-14 days till I get it back but hopefully working.

what OS u running on it. i have replaced the memory in my dell mini 10v from the stock 1 gig to a 2 gig patriot stick and occasionally i still get this error. i used to get it before the the memory change also. i think it may be becuase netbooks dont like win 7 professional . .not sure though

I really dont believe that the error has anything to do with Windows 7, I run Win 7 Ultimate and XP on my Mini 10 and have NEVER gotten any such errors, more likely a memory hardware problem or possibly the MoBo....

I have seen this once and have looked into it. It appears that some of the other Dell laptops have the same issues. Many believe it is caused by software driver issues, especially the video driver.

I also have a 11z and just updated the video driver from the Intel website (Dell's site has the old driver). I was trying to find the latest for the 10V and got confused as which one (945) to download because the 10V should have the 950 but there is no such driver.

My 10v was running XP and I go this error on first start up and about 50% of start ups after that. Also noticed it when putting laptop to sleep. When I installed OS X the problem disappeared. I wiped the HD and installed XP again and used the Dell CD to load drivers. The problem reappeared. I've run most of the memory testers I can find and they don't show any errors. I sent it to Dell today to have them look at it. It wasn't too much of an issue, but I just don't want a lemon.

The 10v (and the 9) use the Intel 945GSE chipset, GMA950 is what Intel calls the graphics processor feature of the chipset (it isn't a separate chip). hope this helps ya...

Ya, I found it was 945 by looking at the current driver on the 10V. It appears what I have is also the latest driver (released back in in 2008 for WIN XP).

I only get this error on my 10v (dual boot SL/7) if I attempt to boot into 7 when its plugged into the AC charger and ethernet plugged in. weird.
