What operating system are you running?
Was it plugged in overnight?..if it was you might have taken a power spike
What country are you in...do they have Dell support?

have you tried to remove and replace the battery while the unit is plugged in?, that resets it sometimes...only other thing I can think of is that maybe the unit took some sort of power hit overnight while it was plugged in and maybe cooked the MoBo or battery, also you said that you tried a friends battery also, have you tried his ac adapter too or tried yours in his unit or your battery in his unit.....try charging your battery in his unit and then put it back in your unit, then at least you know you are dealing with a fully charged battery and go from there...kinda tricky to diagnose from here..

PS: try doing a search on this site for bricked Mini 10vs...maybe something or someone else has had this happen to them too
