It sounds like it may be a hardware issue, but if it were me, I'd at the least attempt to get memtest or (assuming you have a second computer) I'd probably get Hirens BootCD and either make a CD and hook an external CD to the mini or make a bootable thumbdrive and boot the mini off of it and use some of Hirens hardware diagnostics to make sure you don't have some defective RAM (as looking at this thread: http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/dell...b-upgrade.html ) that person was experiencing a similar issue.
Jut a thought.

Thanks for the reply! I tried running NBI a couple times, restarting. The beeping still happens intermittently, but I uncovered another problem that may be linked to it.
Totally randomly the keyboard malfunctions and just goes into freak out mode. The mouse behaves as if I have the control key depressed (right clicks instead of left clicks). it also seems to think sometimes that the shift key is held down--in safari instead of cmd-T opening a new tab, it thinks you are telling it shift-cmd-T and pulls up the tabs bar (view menu). Also, it won't allow you to type as its freaking out. You can sort of reset it by mashing on the fn ctrl shift keys repeatedly, and get a couple more letters out, before it starts freaking out again.
I wiped the disk and am reinstalling SL from scratch, but EVEN WHEN booting off the SL flash drive and during the install panes, the same issues happen! You can't click because it thinks its trying to right click, and you can't type the name of your partition because it keeps freaking out. I had to use that trick of mashing the command keys to "reset" the keyboard so I could name the partition.
Does the fact that its happening even when it boots from the flash drive point to a hardware problem? I think the keyboard input might be the source of the troubles.
I have another computer, but its a Mac.
(what is memtest?)

Also, do people thing the BIOS version could effect it? I downgraded to A05 when i got the mini 10v a couple months ago when A06 wasnt stable with SL. Should I try upgrading to BIOS A06, and if so, how is that done if I don't have a PC?
