Dell have said that I can buy my original Romanian 10v and thet'll through in a UK ac adapter. Below is thier email.

The Initial computer has £148.11 amount plus tax 17.5% £25.92
I spoke to Collections and they advised that customer can keep the order and can offer up to a maximum of 15% off the Net Price, so that's £22.216 less of the £148.11. however since this is another purchase you will be charged with tax 17.5%

Is it a good deal?

Hi mini10user,

At least (and at last) DELL appear to be accepting that they are clearly at fault here and have caused you a lot of aggro. Basically what they are saying hoping is that you as a customer, after having being badly treated, will be willing to make a repeat purchase. Are you ready to do so? Many others would not!

Does 15% reduction really look like a reasonable amount - I would suggest not - 25% min looks more like what they should be offering you IMHO.

Perhaps I should wait untill there are some more Mini 10s on Dell Outlet and then ask her to match that price less my 15% discount?

I might have got lost somewhere along ther way here, but haven't they already sent you a brand new UK spec Mini 10v for the same price you paid for a Romanian refurb?

They are now saying that if you want to keep the original one, it will cost you a total of just under £148, which isn't that bad an offer I wouldn't have thought.

Mind you, as KMC says, they did sent you an illegal computer to start with, so a bit more discount would always be nice, but in view of what you have already received, I can't see them offering you any more.

It never hurts to ask though!

Yes, I have now got a full UK spec machine aswell, the Dell outlet machine which I ordered ( I expected to get a reconditioned 10v with scratches etc) turned out to be a brand new Romanian machine. It is identical apart from the lack of a £ key. It's also too good to go back?

BTW, I'll also end up with a Euro AC adaptor which will be good for holidays or to sell???
