Nice. Me likey. I've been tempted for something like this with both my 10v and my 9 when I had one. My biggest gripe though is that I'd want it to be a true tablet at that point, so I could close the lid and hide the keyboard.

Still, very nice!

I agree, I will stick with my Palm T|X (just replaced complete screen) and Tom Tom 330s, but on the other hand I do give him a lot of credit for trying this

The point is for things that don't really require the use of the keyboard (e.g. web browsing), you don't have to bother with the stupid touchpad.

Don't you need to type to browse, or read email?

I think its a really well done hack. I just don't understand what it does.

No, typing is minimal when I'm browsing or reading emails. The fact that Firefox (or any other web browser) lists my most visited sites as I type in the URL address bar means that the website I spend 99% of my internet time on is just 1 or 3 letters away - something I can do with one hand.

Do the screen bezel and the cover for the wireless card fit back on OK with the extra parts inside?

I love this hack, I would like to try this one myself.
and bsoplinger1, my feeling on touchscreen for everyday use (emails, browsing, chatting)... yeah you are right its kind of pointless. But for digital painting (photoshop painter ect) there is no substitute for being able to see what you are working on right at the tip of your stylus. My dream tool is to make a soft monome and use it on a touchscreen, also I would to make a kaoss pad for a screen like this. I know from using palm for many years and a ds lite that the experience using touchscreen for creativity is fantastic, it would be nice to use something better than my Zire 72s (I think its only like 314mhz processor or something) or my ds (not a very good processor at all) for a kaoss pad, tracker, ect... not to mention the screen size. I use my palms and my ds constantly and to me this hack is almost pornographic.

my dell mini 10v will eventually become a hackintosh

Touchpads are annoying, so the touchscreen is of far better use. However, you do need a general mouse functionality. Having the touchscreen capability brings the netbook one step closer to tablet functionality. I will also say having it for business transactions is really great. I was able to add Intuit software and a card reader to my 10v and can do credit card transactions for my business. The problem I have is I can't push the lid all the way back, so I have to lay it on it's back for customers to sign. If I could get someone to make modded lids to have the screen face outward, and have a soft cover flap to protect the screen, I'd be ecstatic. Even better would be a dual screen capability, and have your secondary screen be outer case. I think it'll be a while before that happens. Plus your battery life wouldn't last too long.
