I just joined here tonight, (Monday, February 1, EST-11:30 p.m.)
I've got a Dell Mini 10v. I was using it today, and turned it off, via the 'normal' shut down' computer, running Windows 7 Pro.
I'm a 53 year old college student, and shut it down to head to my next class.
(It remained shut off in my book bag, for approximately, 3 ½ hours.)
I went to turn it on to use it, and the computer tried booting from the NET ROM (think it's called), not from the hard drive!?!@?
I was thinking like - what is going on here..?
I've been UNABLE ever since that last shut-down, to get any floppy disc (using an USB floppy drive) to see any detected hard drive.!
It has NEVER been bumped, dropped, been babied, and it was being used before shutting down to type and send an e-mail, so it's been working flawlessly.
Any ideas? I bought it used off eBay, and it's been running great, not any noises from hard drive, no problems whatsoever.
Can I somehow, run a software program that MIGHT be able to 'truly' (for sure) detect to see if the hard drive is good or bad, or the motherboard hard drive controller circuitry or etc?
Thanks for all help and comments!
Have a nice evening...
