Default Remotely control my 10V for presentations? - 01-31-2010, 05:05 PM

Hi

I just bought a 10v to give Powerpoint presentations via a projector. At present, I am using the PP presenter in Windows XP. However, in the near future, I am hoping to make it dual boot with Snow Leopard.

Will any Mac/PC compatible wireless remote let me control Powerpoint in either mode, or does the hackintosh mess things up?

Thanks,
laura

I have such a device. Works like a remote mouse. Uses a usb dongle for communication.

Likely Kensington or some such company.

Can anyone tell me if there is a bluetooth device that would allow me to control Powerpoint remotely, i.e. let me to change slides without having to physically stay by the 10v? I like to roam around the classroom when presenting.

If you have an iPhone/iPod Touch (you can probably find something similar for Android too) there's various apps that'll do stuff like this. There's a free app called Logitech Touch Mouse that works over Wi-Fi (if you have both the netbook and the phone connected to the same network) but you can probably find bluetooth alternatives.

If you don't there are plenty of wireless devices you can buy for such a purpose. If all you want to be able to do is advance slides a cheap and small wireless mouse would probably do the trick fine.

Most wireless presenters will work with current OS X and either PowerPoint or whatever the Mac equivalent is (slipping my mind at present) - at least for the simple actions for advancing slides.
