Default Hissing headphones when lid is closed? - 01-15-2010, 09:02 PM

When I close the lid on my 10v and Ubuntu puts it into "suspend" (the low-power pulsing power light state) if I have headphones plugged in they emit a constant white noise hissing sound.

When the power's off, of course, this doesn't happen. When the Mini's powered up and running normally there is no hissing sound. When the headphones are removed and I close the lid, the speakers make no hissing sound.

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm not hugely bothered by it (just need to remember to unplug my headphones) but wondered whether it was just my machine, just the impedance of my headphones, just Ubuntu 9.10 or just me...
