Default Touch pad does not respond when on AC power - 01-05-2010, 02:52 AM

I was wondering if any other users have experienced problems with their 10v touch pad while working on AC power. For some reason, the touch pad works flawlessly while on battery power, freezes when the AC adapter is connected, and resumes function when disconnected.

Can't see it being a hardware problem with the touch pad, so any suggestions? I've installed the latest drivers, not sure how much scope there is to modify the power settings.

What OS are you running? Seems Dell may have some util preinstalled to disable mouse when using an external mouse if your still on the out of the box XP.

W7 Starter, but it's not OS specific since the problem was not resolved when I booted Ubuntu off of a USB drive. I guess I'll break down and send it back to Dell for repair.
