RAM upgrade gone wrong - 01-04-2010, 08:28 AM
I just had installed 2 GB RAM into my netbook. First boot nothing happened after reassembly. Booted it again, worked fine for about an hour, my screen had gone black. Tried to boot again and this popping noise (lack of a better word) happened. I've now found that when that noise happens it's not going to boot.
But sometimes it does boot and that noise doesn't happen. But also when that happens the screen may get glitchy and it won't entirely load (remain on the boot screen.)
If it boots up, like I said earlier it will eventually go black again.
I'm on 10.6.2 Snow Leopard (Only OS installed)
I put in 2GB of Corsair brand RAM.
I don't know what the cause of this could have been. My hunch was I didn't connect the display properly so I disassembled and reassembled everything once more before posting here. I'm still experiencing the same issue. So could it be the RAM? or am I just entirely screwed?..
If anyone can help me troubleshoot this issue, please do I'm in dire need.
