you dont need to butcher your netbook, this utility puts a little light at the top left hand corner of your screen or the right side..your choice..you can customize the colors, I have mine set for green for read and red for write and blue for idle, you can make it what ever you want, I have it running on all my machines, my servers which sit on the floor now I dont have to keep looking down, I have it on my big HP 17" laptop which has its OWN lights, and on my Mini 10, its great, stays on top of other programs, just glance at the top left and you know whether the machine is reading/writing or idle..I think its much better than having to open the unit, solder,glue,cut or whatever...try it out..heres the link

No, I am not making any money for it, I didnt write it...but it did take like almost 2 weeks to find something that I actually liked..and I thiink others will too, its only like 800kb, very little system overhead
