I just took a 150gb partition with Win XP on it, shrunk it down to 50gb, then formatted the new 100gb partition in NTFS format then merged the new 100gb partition into an existing 315gb with Win 7 on it to give me a total of 415gb for Win 7 and 50gb for Win XP, I used acronis disk director suite. IT WORKED PERFECTLY...
In your case you could shrink the partition by 32gb, that would give you a unallocated space of 32gb, then create a 32gb partition in that space, format it in NTFS and then you would have 2 partitions, your 1st partition would remain as is, just 32gb smaller than it is now, then the 2nd partition (the new 32gb partition) can be used to do whatever you want to do with it.
