Wow, this is Fantastic! Can you get me a quote for a Black lid and a white lid please! I live in South Korea now, but I'm coming to the US for CES in January. Is there any chance you could get these shipped to my hotel while I'm there (assuming the price is good, and I pay with a credit card).

Yidakee, I am actually British, despite living in South Korea now. As I said, I'll be in the US in early January (2nd - 10th), but I'll be coming to England on the 22nd, then heading to France for a snowboarding trip on the 23rd. If it helps you, and Aerax is able to sort us both out, then I could bring them to Europe with me at that time if you're not in a rush.

Where in Europe are you?

All the SKU's on dell.com go off of 7 digit part numbers... the 5 digit ones I always list can only be looked up by a dell rep... of course I'm happy to do that if needed for a quote or something.. also, while I can create quotes.. I am in no fashion pushing sales in any way... I get no commission in sales that are tied to my name.. nor do I want such things.. with commission comes quota's.. lol, no thanks, I'll stick with Tech Support.. anyway.. on with it.

Because all of these part numbers are always going to yield a "spare part", they're typically cheaper than what you'd be able to buy straight off dell.com or where ever.

Hope that helps.

Are there part numbers available for the OPI designer lids. My wife really wanted a red one so I bought her a 10v with the cajun shrimp lid (really looked red online). It turns out it is really a very orang color. I have been round and round Dell customer service trying to do something about it. No Joy.

What I would really like to get is a Big Apple Red cover and replace it.

heh, didn't realize this thread had gotten more replies what with the holiday and all, I'd stepped away from the boards for a bit.

@Nezil,

I can, *if* your home country isn't on the embargoed country list... I have a bad memory for those types of things so I won't be able to tell until I get to work. If I can, I'll post back here with info.

@yidakee,

I think can quote for Europe, there shouldn't be any problems there.

@vandnbg,

There should be.. I'll look around for them when I have time and post back all the part numbers with their descriptions like I was quoted in the post above.

Some notes to consider:

I can list prices here if that's all you all are interested in.. that's fine. But for all actual quotes: I would require a service tag inorder to pull up your information at Dell to be able to actually create that quote.

PLEASE DO NOT post your service tag in the forums pages. You can IM it to me and we can go from there.

In my department, the act of selling items only comes second.. primary objective is to resolve technical issues.. and granted, we only support people with a Gold, or ProSupport Contract.. But if it's in the name of "Total Solutions" - The selling/quoting, ect, is allowed regardless of wether you bought your system under a business, govt, hi-edu, consumer, ect account, so long as you don't live in TX or a country we cannot sell too, I can create a quote for you.

Also, incase you're unfamiliar with it, or whatnot. Though you cannot buy the spare parts online initially (because as I've mentioned before, they aren't searchable through our website because of the 5-digit SKU).. Once an actual quote is created, then you *can* do the purchasing of that item online. You'd just go to www.dell.com/quote and put in your customer number, and quote number off of the email that would be sent.. then you'd be presented with all the options of payment method, shipping address, ect..

Aerax - You may be my hero!!! Long story made short - I need your help. Everytime I need a part, or an answer about a part number I get the serious run-a-round. Is there another forum where I could pick your brain??

Default Instructions for replacement - 08-28-2010, 06:30 PM

Hi guys. Can anyone point me to the instructions for removing and replacing the back cover? It seems like I probably just pry it up but I'd rather see the service manual for that before I dig in.
