Default What memory is inside the 10v? - 12-06-2009, 09:32 AM

Hi,

what are the details for the DELL Mini 10v's original 1GB RAM? Model Number and MhZ specification would be enough to know.

Thanks!

The module in my 10v which was ordered directly from Dell back in September has the name 'nanya' on the label; model No. NT1GT64UH8D0FN-AD 0932.TW.

Under the Bar code it has 1GB.2Rx16.PC2-6400S-666-13-A2.800 and below that ML098030EG.X2 followed by an even longer bar code!

There is of course no guarantee that they are still using the same modules, in fact I would go as far as to say that they probably aren't!

I hope this helps anyway, although I am just a bit curious to know what you were hoping to gain from these details?

Edit: Having just read your earlier post (in German!) I wouldn't worry about trying to match this if you are considering replacing it with a 2 GB module. Any 'standard' 5300 generic module will work fine, and some manufacturers such as Crucial (and Kingston also I believe) will sell ones which they guarantee are compatible with your particular model.

I could not find anybody selling a 533MhZ module used and do not want to buy it new. So this question was really all about what I can put in the Mini and what I can't. 533MhZ was the way to go I thought.

Going from your post as well as rrfranczak3's not only 533MhZ but 667 and 800 will work too. That should make it easier for me to get something cheap. You know I'm ridiculous that way but hey...I don't see the point in buying this new when memory is the last part of any computer to die. Ever.

Thank you guys very much!

Why not buy new? But as you say, faster will work too.

At what speed is the memory actually running inside the Mini? You should be able to look it up in Windows via CPU-Z..

It's running at 533MHz.

With memory that, from its specifications, could run faster (i.e. 667,800MhZ)? To be direct; 533MhZ IS the highest clockrate it'll do?

Thanks!

Correct. Even if the memory is capable of running faster, the chipset will not use a speed faster than 533MHz.
