Default 6-cell option - am I losing my mind? - 12-03-2009, 09:00 PM

I was on the Dell site yesterday, and could swear that going through the "Configure" list for the $279 base 10v there was a Select Battery option where you get to choose between a 3 and 6 cell battery. Even stranger, I could swear that it listed the 6 as standard and the 3 as a negative option! Weird, yes, I thought odd enough at the time that I re-read it several times.

Today I went back, and despite going all over the Mini 10 pages, and doing the configure process a few times, I couldn't find any place to choose battery size. No 6 cell option at any price,. and all the specs mentioned listed the 10v as having the 3 cell with not even a mention of the 6.

Am I losing my mind, or did Dell just run out of 6 cell batteries yesterday and decide to pretend they never existed? It's one of the irritating things about the net, that vendors can just do a 1984 anytime they want - I really ought to remember to do screen shots more often.

Oh, another thing, if one is shopping the refurbs, is there anyway to know what battery they have?

I just configured a system and had no problems selecting the battery. Make sure you are not picking fast track. I clicked on the button that said Build It Your Way.
