I need to make 2 more Mini 10v hackintoshes and would like a plan to "clone" the exisiting mini 10v. I (think) know Super Duper, Time Machine and Migration Assistant won't work because of the boot loader but someone must have a plan or can point me in the right direction. I have the machine working as I like it, I'd just like to clone it to the 2 new mini's rather than do 2 more Snow Leopard installs. "sudo dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb" will clone the first hard drive to the second on recent Ubuntu system, the OSX command would be the same except for the device names. Simple disk cloning can cause problems when multiple computers on a network have the same IDs. The specific problems depend on OS, software, and settings (for a Windows-specific example, see Security Identifier - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). I don't know what you need to worry about with OSX. Mini 1012 | SSD | Intel 6200 Wifi | Ubuntu 11.10 64bit |

Something like using firewire and disk mode when you migrate from one mac to another. I know there is no firewire on these machines and migration assistant won't work. I don't want to disassemble the machines and I do have access to external USB storage devices. Thanks again, Dave Mini 10v | OS X 10.6.1 | 1GB RAM | BIOS A05 | NBI 0.8.3 RC5 | http://www.daveesquer.com |

Easiest way is to make a backup disk image from your good install onto your external USB drive, restore it to the new Mini's, and rerun NBI on the new Mini's. I did this with a Leopard disk image from a Mini 9 to a Mini 10v and it worked perfectly. Here's the thread about it: Restore 10.5.7 Image from Mini9 to 10v | |
