Default 10v shipping with a 7200rpm drive? - 11-03-2009, 02:18 PM

I snagged a 10v out of the outlet last night with the n280, bluetooth, 6 cell battery, and apparently a 7200rpm 160 gig hard drive.

Obviously all the other stuff is able to be ordered, but I've never seen the 7200rpm drive as an option.

Do you think I'm going to get the 7200 rpm drive? Or will I have leverage to lower the price when it gets here?

I've never seen 7200rpm drives as an option. However, it may be possible that in trying to service a Mini the depot was out of 5400rpm drives and obtained 7200rpm drives as replacements (sometimes when you get a warranty replacement from Dell they will ship a larger capacity drive in it's place.)

My guess it's a typo.

I think my honest answer to your poll would have to be "Not so far as I am aware", which is not a selectable option!

Mini 10v - Product (RED) - BIOS A06 - Ubuntu 11.04 - 2GB RAM - 60 GB OCZ Vertex SSD - Bluetooth - Intel 6205 Wi-Fi - WWAN

I was able to grab a refurb unit with a 250gb WD scorpio black (which is a 7200) with whatever the fall sensor is call in WD land. I doubt that was an option in the store and wonder if someone upgraded and had a brain melt-down when they sent it in for repair.

I didn't see any specific option to order one with a 7200rpm drive so just assumed it would be 5400, when mine arrived a couple of days ago, I did the 2gb ram upgrade and spotted it shipped with 7200rpm 160GB drive... which was nice :0)
