I installed a 5100 (£24 from eBay) yesterday, it worked like a treat but.... the screen stayed lit (the back-light was on) when my 10v was turned off and the charger was plugged in. Everything was connected OK. Very odd, must be a bad unit (thats why it was on eBay). I have now changed back to the 1397.....

Default What's the objection to the 1510? - 01-01-2010, 02:32 PM

New here, but just set up a Mini 10v w/ OS-X. The 1510 is running fine. Had absolutely no issues.

I picked up the Mini 10v used off of craigslist and didn't even realize it had the 1510 in it until I got home with it. Connected right up to my Airport Extreme access point.

Considered it just an added bonus on a cheaper 10v.

Sorry to hear you had a problem.

I ordered an Intel 5100 card directly from Dell, and was quite surprised when they only charged me £21.85 for it, including free courier delivery.

It appears to be an original Intel card with no Dell branding on it at all, although they did include some black labels to stick on it, which I haven't bothered about!

Windows 7 recognised it straight away, but I did find some later drivers on Intel's website, and it seems to be working fine.... the hardest part was plugging in the two tiny connectors when I installed it!

Hi,

Just curious as to whether or not you have had a chance to try it out yet?

Like you (and a lot of other 'hackintoshers' also I suspect), I would really love to find an internal card which I could fit into my Mini 10v and use with Snow Leopard, but there just don't seem to be any around at all, which is a real shame, I reckon!

Eh? I've read that the Dell 1505 works well, and even the Apple Airport.

Although I have an Intel 5100 internally, which does not work in OS X, I have a Medialink MWN-USB150N which works fine in both OS X and Windows (and it supposedly works in Linux too.)
