XP and 7 (using basic theme) are pretty close in speed from what I have found.

No idea about OS X though.

Since it's so cool to have your system specs in your signature here...

In terms of speed I think OS X (especially snow leopard) is very hard to beat.
To some this might not appear straight away though, it really depends what kind of user you are, and any peripherals you are using (mice make a huge difference over the touchpad). In this case Windows XP/7 might appear faster.

For me though, the real boot time (time it takes for me to open lid to reading email) is a huge factor. Sitting my Dell Latitude D620 (Core 2 Duo) with XP SP3 side by side with my Mini 10v, the DM boot time is almost half the time it takes on the D620; XP boots into OS quick but spends the next 3-5 minutes procrastinating about how it doesn't want to open Thunderbird/Outlook.
Windows 7 is an improvement but IMO still not on par with Snow Leopard on this topic.

Of course all this means nothing if you are not comfortable using OS X as an environment. Same thing with Linux, you can't leave Ubuntu or Fedora out of this decision.

Follow the A04 downgrade guide. When I received mine I did this straight away, followed by the OS X install, and i've never needed a reason to upgrade the BIOS back to A06.

thx for answer i got a hp7200 with windows severn ultimate 64 bits and 4 gb of ram for hard work

the mini 10v is for chating fb ,picture, music and youtube mainly , and i think the OS that im using now /xp sp3/ is slow , my mini10v has only 1gb of ram so u think it will be fine with SL? should i install from retail sc or from a "hackintosh" distribution?

i didnt mention any linux distribution coz im not familiar with the SO , but i kow that Linux is pretty good in low resources machines

keep in mind this is a discussion forum full sentences, capitalization, full words and punctuation help others understand your posts better. no need to text your posts. there's also a search function and entire forums dedicated to osx.

Just had to share this:

Penny Arcade! - Mr. Period Returns
Penny Arcade! - We're here to help

(Not trying to make fun, just a friendly jab. Welcome to the forums, DaMoha, and enjoy your new Mini 10v!)

Sold my Mini 9 for a larger netbook, one that's easier on my wrists and hands.
Current Machine: 2010 MacBook Pro 13", 2.4 GHz C2D, 4GB RAM, Win7 Pro x64/OS X 10.6.3

And I play with my girlfriend's Mini 10v ^_^.

Interested in using MATLAB on the Mini 10v? Check out my benchmarks!
