Default Wireless only goes at about 120 KB/s max - 10-27-2009, 11:57 PM

I think I have a problem with my wireless card in my 10v.

All of a sudden the speeds have become ridiculously slow, I am testing an internal FTP transfer from a wired to wireless comp at home, and I can't get more than 120 KB/s

I tried another wireless computer and I get about 2 MB/s, I highly suspect it's the wireless card that has problems. I get this problem in both XP and 7, of which 7 is a recent clean install.

Anyone have similar issues? I'm thinking of calling Dell tomorrow regarding this. If they do send me a new wireless card is it easy to install? Just at the bottom slot?

I just tested it on another router, and it gets a high speed. This is bizarre. I guess I'll try a router reset later.

Are the different router's using different encryption? Are they using different channels? And then there's always the chance that your neighbor just happened to be using their microwave at that moment.

I decided to reboot the router and it seems to work fine now, kind of odd.

I wonder if I just had a conflict because it was a dual boot, and plus I set the hostname for both installations of Windows to be the same.
