New guy with mini10v - 10-24-2009, 09:30 PM
Hello everyone, I just bought my new mini 10v from sams on Thursday with widows 7. Thyehad just put it out when i picked it up. I bought this as a successor to my gateway 14inch notebook (who's motherboard took a dump)
I must say i like it alot , especially the portability of it. One thing however I am not impressed with is the speed
I was thinking of upgrading the ram to a 2gb stick. Would this make a difference? Who has tried it and could confirm a quicker pc?
Also can anyone recommend a good site that sells these 2gig upgrades cheap . thanx in advance
what do you think about this one?

At least from my experience, there's very little difference between RAM brands (especially in the CL5 latency segment) besides possibly quality control on the 'name' brands. If you're willing to fight out a "visa card" (vs. check) rebate:
Corsair Value Select 2GB DDR2 SDRAM Memory Module - VSA2GSDS667D2 - Buy.com
It shouldn't matter that it's 'mac' memory.
But just about any of the 2gb DDR2 So-Dimms that Newegg sells would be fine - if you're on the east coast, Newegg is often the fastest option.
