Default which bios should i be running? does it matter? - 10-12-2009, 03:15 AM

I've installed Mac OS X 10.6.1 on my dell mini 10v - whooo hooo!

I'm curious what the upsides/downsides are to upgrading the firmware past a04 - which i downgraded to in order to install os x.

one particular curiosity - the trackpad supports scrolling functions. any way to get that under os x?

AO4 seems to be the magic BIOS rev for at least Leopard.
I wouldn't try to press my luck with upgrading bios past A04 with your first run at OSX installed on your DM.

I'm not really up to date with what improvements you are getting going to A05 or A06.

The new version of NBM (0.8.3) allows for two-finger scrolling. If that's the version you used to install your OS X, check the system preferences under trackpad to configure it.

My bios was running A05 and all is running well. I'm not exactly sure what the pros and cons are of using anything above A04.
