Not wishing to gloat, but I've got the 1024x600 and the 6-cell battery. I've had a play with a friend's 10v with the 1024x576 and 3-cell and I must say I didn't really notice the difference in the screen. I mean I _really_ didn't notice until we opened the 10vs side by side and even then it wasn't a big deal.
The 3-cell does make the netbook look tidier when it's closed and it fits more neatly into bags and pockets. That said, I like the way my 6-cell raises the keyboard slightly, I prefer how it feels when typing. There aren't many occasions when I need the extra capacity of the 6-cell battery but it's nice to have, just in case.
Hope this helps. I think what I meant was, don't sweat it. Just use what you've got. And definitely don't fuss about upgrading the screen. Unless you want to further the research into a possible way to fit the Mini 10's high-res screen to a 10v's connectors!
