Default Why would PC world say the Dell Mini isn't Mac-able? - 10-05-2009, 11:33 AM

hi forum.

I want an OSX netbook, going for the Dell Mini 10v, seems to be the best all round choice that ticks my boxes..

but came across this from PC World?

>>'You can't even "hackintosh" the Mini 10 (the process of buying a compatible notebook and installing OS X on it). The integrated GMA500 graphics is incompatible."<<<<

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 Laptop Review - PC World

why would they say that, is that old advice?

it seems to contradict every thing I've read so far.

The Mini 10 is incompatible with OSX due to its GMA500 graphics chip.

The dell Mini 10v on the other hand, is compatible with OSX.

They look very similar but are actually quite different machines......

Thanks for clearing that up Alcapownd ... I've picked the right Model anyhooos , but glad to know there's a wild card out there...

In fact the Dell site is a bit vague, on spec and model series descriptions. Took me ages to find out if the 10V had a VGA port.
