That's weird you guys are having so many heat issues. My MSI Wind got an upgrade to 2GB (which I put in myself, bought from NewEgg) and it runs comfortably cool all the time, even under load. It's running an Atom N270 as well. I'd be careful if it is getting so hot you have to move it or turn it off. Those Atoms only have a 5W TDP. That's REALLY low. It should never get that hot.

I'm curious, are these heat issues common? Is it based on the actual manufacturer of the RAM or is it pretty standard with all the 2gb upgrades?

As pointed out earlier, even the 1's can get hot depending on what you are doing. The passive (non-fan) cooling in the mini isn't the best choice for quickly moving heat away from the RAM/mobo either.

my lpatop was installed with GSkill" memory ,it does not produce much heat. you can have a trying.
