Out of interest, was this a brand new machine from Dell directly, or from their 'factory outlet' store... or whatever it's called?

When mine have reached the 'Delivery' stage, they always incude an electronic link to the Packing Slip, (I can't recall one being included in the box though!) which lists all the components individually, and then they also email me a fully itemised invoice a few days later.

I am in the UK, but I would have thought the procedure is the same everywhere.

Hope you manage to get it all sorted out OK anyway!

yep.....dell did not do a good job with this. took like 5 min to order pc, but spent days getting order straightened out....if it is.

btw, had same issue with HP. it's like all the companies are bs, just wanna sell it, and after they get the cash, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN.

i had to fight, fight, fight to get them to admit that yes, i did specify bluetooth. they sent me email of the order slip, which does not have bluetooth on it, but apparently, i guess because they record the conversations, or whatever, they admitted that the FIRST thing i specified was internal bluetooth.

no lie, spoke to like 10 people who all said, nope, you didnt order it.

but 2 i spoke to,found that i was right and it was the FIRST thing i specified.

the other 10, said return dell pc, and order new one. when i asked about hours i spent setting up pc, they said, oh well, do you want blue tooth or not, because if you do, you need to return it because it has to be factory installed.

they shut up after i sent them the link from service manual where it shows how to install a wireless internal bluetooth card.

my advice, get everything in writing, and if somethings wrong, DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM SAY NO, OR SORRY. FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT. IT MIGHT BE A HASSLE, BUT IN THE END, IF U DID AND THEY MESSED UP, THEY WILL HELP YOU. GUESS IT IS JUST EASIER FOR THEM TO SAY "NOPE, SORRY, YOU ARE SOL........

ordered from dell direct, called order in. nothing was sent via email or mail regarding specs, and when pc was delivered, in the box with nothing, no packing slip, no list, no nothing.

FXCK DELL. ALL LIES AND BS.

BLUETOOTH CARD CAME YESTERDAY.

INSTALLED, RUNS GREAT. ONLY ISSUE I HAD WAS GOT 4 INSTALLATION MESSAGES WHEN I REBOOTED:

1. bcm2046: ready to use
2. m.s. bluetooth enumerator: ready to use
3. bluetooth device: (personal area network) ready to use

GOT ONE ERROR MESSAGE:

4. bluetooth device (rfcomm protocol TDI) failed

but, blue tooth connected and worked, so i'm not sure what the error message meant. went to ms website, didnt understand what there explanation was; did not make sense to me.

Hey,

Looks like Dell's pulling similar crap with me over the bluetooth.

The time and effort to deal with this issue is crazy...

... if they're deal is to "bs and pass the buck" they're doing a good job

... at this point I'm seriously thinking of grabbing a $20 external bluetooth adapter and be done with it.

Crazy! Can't believe these guys!

I dont understand how you guys are having such a hard time with dell. I have ordered 20+ systems from them, 15 of them were throught their small business department, and the rest have been online. I have purchased from the outlet as well as the online store.. My last purchase was yesterday, here is my order confirmation:

Quantity Item Description 1 Inspiron Mini 10v
1 Intel® Atom Processor® N270 (1.6GHz/533Mhz FSB/512K cache)
1 1GB DDR2 SDRAM
1 10.1" Widescreen Display (1024x600)
1 Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950
1 160GB, 2.5inch, 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
1 Obsidian Black
1 Genuine Windows® 7 Starter for Small Notebook PCs, 32bit, English
1 Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 9
1 No Mobile Broadband Selected
1 Wireless 802.11g (1397) Mini Card
1 Integrated 1.3M Pixel Webcam
1 Microsoft Works 9 DOES NOT INCLUDE MS WORD

1 24WHr Lithium-Ion Battery (3-cell)
1 1Yr Ltd Warranty and Mail-In Service

It was not only listed with my order on their website, the confirmation email also shows EXACTLY what I ordered and gave me multiple chances to change before sending them $$$.
