Hello everyone! I was on my XPS 1530 earlier trying to track when my Mini 10v was going to arrive and then I hear a loud banging on my door and guess who was there?! The FedEx man with my dell Mini!
Anyways I have a few questions I would like to ask.
First of all, I paid $306.14 for it and I was wondering did I get a good deal on it, it has the following specs:
N280 Atom Processor
6 cell battery
1510 N Wireless Card
1 gb RAM
160 gb HD
Secondly, upgrading the RAM to 2gb seems to be a very popular thing to do. I have read that it doesn't really make that much of difference in terms of performance. Is this true or false? Also, where can I buy a 2gb laptop module for cheap? I have also read that the chipset maxes out the RAM speed at 533 despite the 667 FSB on the N280, is this true? Does this mean I should just get a DDR2 with 533 mHz to be effective? Also, does it make sense for me to get a DDR3?
Finally, I read that a lot of people are running Windows 7 on their Mini 10vs. Is this recommended? Would it be better than Windows XP system performance wise? Which version of Windows 7 should I install on my Mini 10v to get the best performance?
Thanks in advance for all your help! I look forward to hearing from guys!
