Default Performance on Mac OS X - 09-02-2009, 07:01 AM

Hi !

I'm about to decide if I should buy a Dell Mini 10v or not
The things I couldn't find (and as it is a Dell I also cannot try it somewhere) is the performance of a Mac OS X installation. Could anyone comment on this (boot time, time to start typical applications, generell behaviour,...)

yours

This may help some:

Also, comments from other atom-based hackintosh users (mini9 etc) should apply, given the hardware is so similar.

I have not actually timed it, but I would say boot time to applications is about 30 seconds. It is very snappy and booting/waking from sleep is quick

I can affirm the previous post. Something around 30 sec, Office, Iwork even HD Movies running smooth.

I think there is no better netbook for OSX then a 10v

Do some homework on your own

There is plenty of information regarding standard HDD vs SSD... and 1Gb RAM vs 2Gb RAM

I personally use a standard SATA HDD and 1Gb RAM and have no performance issues. Love my Mini 10v
