Default OS X Retail & Updateable? - 09-01-2009, 11:31 PM

So I have been searching for ever to find the answer but to no avail, so I turn to the forums...

Anyway I will be purchasing a dell mini 10v and I want to install OS X on the machine. I have seen plenty of guides, but I was curious if there is a way to install Retail edition of Leopard, that is fully functional and updateable through the Software Update function on OS X?

Yes, you can use a retail DVD of Leopard, you just need to use DellMiniBoot 8.02B1 to boot into the disc. Yes you can update through software update, but u will need to run DellEFI in safe mode after applying the update.
Use this for installing Leopard
DellEFI 3: Installing using External DVD Drive | Guides | OS X | mechdrew

And use this for applying updates (skip to step 4)
