Default Upgraded RAM, but popped two keys - 08-11-2009, 12:02 AM

For me, the biggest hurdle of the upgrade was the keyboard removal I ended up popping the ~ key. It's back on, working, but it's all crooked. Also, the delete key is hanging on. It feels the center is in, but the corners of it are loose.

Is this something I can repair? It's a new laptop. If I call DELL, would they send me a replacement keyboard?

I ordered a replacement Keyboard for an Inspiron 6000 once.

I was also quite surprised on how cheap it was.

I was expecting to be gouged.

I would think that Dell would be able to sell you a replacement.

Are you sure the key and its levering parts are broken? Most of the time with laptop keys, they just need to be snapped back into place. If the little levers underneath are indeed broken, you can sometimes buy them as separate parts. I remember buying some for a Mac laptop for $3 each.
