I just finished watching 1 1/2 hrs of streaming video from Netflix. I had speed fan open and would periodically check it. I hit 148F but was averaging 133F. The video played fine at that temperature and there was no stuttering in the video. The Mini10V was sitting on a wood desk with plenty of space around it.
The atom cpu does seem tough but what I am wondering about is how well will my HDD perform and last for ?

Try SIW to measure temperature - 08-10-2009, 01:58 PM
I use Gabriel Topala's System Information for Windows - SIW. (SIW | System Information for Windows by Gabriel Topala)
Go to the sensors icon on the menu and it will give you a read out on ACPI (whatever that is), CPU and HDD. Right now my system is running at 123 degrees F; not doing anything special.
I had called Dell support re this - they updated the bios but I dont see any difference.
I have a Belkin cooling mat which fits the mini 10v very nicely and when I run that it drops temp below 100 degrees.
PS - SIW tells you everything about your system you could ever want to know - it's a great little utility I put on all of my systems.
