Default No more 120GB - 07-05-2009, 05:38 PM

Dell Canada doesn't seem to be offering any of the 10v's with 120gb hard drives anymore... only the 160gb, forcing the lowest price unit up by $30.
Just a heads up, in case anyone is thinking about buying one from Dell US, as this might be a phasing out of the 120gb drives, and pushing the 10v out of some people's budgets.

You sure? I see it. Or is it at checkout that it gets rejected?

Right now have it sitting in my cart, but reluctant to pull the trigger because of the 1024x600 vs 1024x576 issue. Anybody receive the 1024x600 from the Canadian site yet?

That's really interesting... for me, there are no 120gb models showing... the base model is the ubuntu one with a 160gb for $353.30 CAD.

I received mine on June 29th, from Dell Canada, and was still a x 576

good luck!

My bad, it appears if you customize it, you still are given the option to downgrade to 120gb. Sorry for the confusion.

I got a 1024x600 10V delivered on July 2 in Canada. It was ordered on June 16.

GRRR

This is what happens when you wait too long.

Got an email saying my cart would expire. (Could have sworn they said it would be available for longer than that.)

Now when I try to rebuild the same config, yes the 120 GB is still available, but there's no longer a $30 subtraction on the price.

What the heck? In effect the price has gone up for this config - seems a bit outrageous to me... dammit...

The US side still has a $25 difference in price...

grrr, now the price is down to what it was for the 120g, and it is listed as having the 1024x600 screen I wish I had have waited a month.

now the real question.. do I return mine and order a new one just for 1024x24 pixels and 40gigs of space?

Okay, now they have removed the option to downgrade to 120gb, so I guess this was on track.
