I apologize for these basic questions, I've done quite a bit of searching and couldn't find any up-to-date answers, so... with the latest methods available, please confirm if/to what extent the following work on a Hackintoshed Mini 10v: - Wifi (does it work same as on a Mac? Eg. just click the Airport icon to choose a network?) - Sleep - Audio out (speakers and headphone) What currently doesn't work on a Hackintosh? TIA |

I just read and saw Anguish's video on replacing the RAM in the 10v...and I just have a couple questions...does Mac OS X run better with the 2GB? also do I need a Mac to make a bootable USB flash drive, or is there a way to do it with Windows? (I guess I could always use Virtual PC 2007)... lastly I think Anguish said something about the battery life was nearly 6 hours with the 6-cell, so in terms of battery life, does the OS X "save" more than Ubuntu or Windows 7? |

I put the 2G stick in my Mini9 that is running Leopard 10.5.8, I've left the 10v at 1GB. In reality, I don't notice a whole lot of difference in performance. The real reason I put it in the 9 was to stop pretty much all paging with the SSD. with the hard disk, I really don't care. the 10v is my "daily" machine at work these days and I run Entourage, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and the Mac calendar/mail utilities and iTunes pretty regularly. no issues with 1GB |

What's the preferred BIOS for OSX? A04 or A05? If you want to dual boot can you just use BootCamp in OSX later to partition it? |

I've originally had it configured as XP and OSX 10.5.6 dual boot. Upgraded to 10.5.7 and did the audio fix (remove Voodoo and redo Vanilla). Yesterday upgraded to 10.5.8 and audio is not working. No device shown. Can anybody help? Thanks a lot. |

Hi, I'm no techie, but somehow I got my dell mini 10v working with osx using jacques1171 post. here is the link... How to setup Snow Leopard on mini 10v with A06 BIOS the only difference is that i did NOT install the netbook installerS after placing the HD back into my dell mini. instead, I installed them while running the HD on my mac externally. (I didn't generate dsdt files on either netbook installer, not sure if i had to on the first one which is NBI 0.8.2) i did it this way because his way didn't load osx to allow me to install the NBIs he suggests using... the problem is that i get no sound at all. i tried a fix from vapormike, here is the link: Mini 1011 (Mini 10v) and OS X - Info - UPDATED for AUDIO!!!! i also tried a fix from Bear Hunter, here is this link: No sounds period 10v, SL, 0.8.3 RC3 neither of these worked for me. is there an app or a couple of sound drivers that make sound possible? any help would be great at this point, this is as techie as i've ever gotten, and as proud as i am for having come this far it is extremely frustrating not to have sound. i'm so close to having the perfect netbook. all i need is sound and the mic to work... PS I have this weird eject button/symbol next to time and wifi bars on the upper right of my screen. when i click on it, it says no drives. could this have anything to do with it? I'm using a dell mini 10v with BIOS 06, 2 gig of ram, 16 gig HD. I am running OSX 10.6.2 thank you all, i couldn't have come this far without all your detailed input... |
