quick question... i have installed osx 10.5.1 on my 10v using the netbookinstaller app.... iv been reading all the guides and watching the vids..... and i got it installed and the following works: audio, trackpad not freaking out, webcam, photobooth (which requires QE), front row, ilife 08.....

Then i did the 10.5.6 combo update.... everything works still... then 10.5.7 broke the cool stuff.... QE, photobooth, front row,audio (fixed the audio).....


How can i get Quartz Extreme working again?????

I can't get the audio to work on my 10v. I installed OSX with the single usb EFI method. I've tried just about everything I could find to the best of my abilities, but the audio still doesn't work. Is there an easy way to fix the audio that I might have missed?

Use NetbookInstaller .8.2RC4 (link in my signature)

To install OSX, or just the mini 10v drivers? I tried installing the drivers alone, and it cause the 10v to kernel panic every time I turned it on. Or at least, something did, and I assume it was that since it happened both times I tried it.

Hey everyone, thanks for the help this forum is great. What are you all using for you trackpad driver? I have tried everything from V15 i think to version 18 and with many different combinations of sensitivity settings but am still not that happy with the performance.

I have the same problem with my 10v. 10.5.8 upgrade with Netbookinstaller 0.8.2 and now now QE.

I tried the following but it still didn't work:

Enable Quartz Extreme and Quartz 2D Extreme - AwkwardTV

I got it working again...need to get sleep. I'll write it up in the morning...hint: involves running DellEFI 1.25a, install Mini 9 drivers only, then Netbookinstaller 0.8.2 install 10v drivers only, reinstall 4 vanilla audio KEXTs...that's it...now 100% hackintosh goodness.

I use the trackpad in a pinch or in a meeting. I bring my bluetooth mouse in my bag. I think we're at the limits of software, it's just crappy trackpad hardware.

First of all, thanks to all for the great posts.

I have managed to install 10.5.6 (dual booted with XP) using the DellEfi 1.25a method. All works well except for audio.

I tried installing the 4 audio kexts, but still no luck with audio.

Following the thread, I tried Netbook installer 0.8.2 RC4, which broke the trackpad.

I then went back to DellEfi 1.25a and re-installed the Mini9 kexts. Trackpad is back!

Is there any easy way to keep the trackpad drivers and get audio to work? Am I missing something?

I'm trying to follow the Anguish method and am running into trouble installing Windows 7 to partition 3. As I understand it, you need to convert the disk to GPT in order to be able to create the EFI partition for OSX. However when I go to install Windows 7 to its partition, it says "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style". In the anguish vids, windows doesn't complain of this at all, and no other guides I've come across have mentioned any trouble with Windows+GPT.

Some notes:
* I'm installing the RTM, not the RC. Is this a new restriction with RTM? Would installing the RC and then doing an upgrade install to RTM work?
EDIT: If anyone knows where I can get an RC iso still, I'd be happy to test this theory!

* My osx disc is in the mail, so unlike Anquish, I'm trying to install W7 before OSX. I don't see what difference that would make.

* My drive is the 160 Gb instead of the 120. Again, I don't see how that would make a difference.

* A different guide I read said you should run "assign letter c" in diskpart to make the windows partition drive C. This didn't work for me because C was apparently already assigned to the sd slot. I tried just typing "assign" to let it pick the next available letter, but it still didn't work.

* If I don't convert the drive to GPT, I can install W7 just fine, however I can't create an EFI partition. If I leave out the EFI partition, will OSX not install properly in a single "system" partition?
