I'm wondering if OS X can be installed on the new RunCore Pro IV SSDs in similar manner as masterfully discussed here by lantzn?

The new RunCores have a SATA to USB adaptor - such that it appears all one would need to do is connect via USB ...

If so, one of these puppies could install nicely in the 10v!

Webcam works with photobooth. Don't have requisite account for iChat testing -- I'd assume it is fine, though.

External monitor may take a bit of work. Spaces had it spanning, but it wouldn't ever turn on. I wasn't really trying to get it to work, though. May just work. Everything else has for me (except sound).

Used DellEFI 1.1, combo update, and the realtek driver in this thread.

Sound still isn't working, although I do have volume control (which I didn't have before).

SD cards stick out. (Someone wanted to know that....)

I popped the hard drive out, attached it to an iMac and installed Leopard from there. Then I used Software Update to apply everything it needed, installed DellEFI 1.2a5 and the NC10 audio driver. Everything seems to work just fine, with the exception of display mirroring and spanning (even when I reverted to the old 'mirror-friendly GMA kext'). I don't have Bluetooth on this machine, so that's not been tested.

It was a very quick and easy install - quite painless.

So far as performance is concerned, it does seem a little slower than my Mini 9 which has a RunCore SSD. I see no reason why a RunCore SATA SSD shouldn't be used in place of the included Hitachi 5K320-120

I simply followed the guide mechdrew did. I used the 2 USB drive method. Worked quite nicely on my Mini 9, and I followed the same steps here.

Haven't tried sound yet here. Doing the 10.5.7 update, then if I still have enough energy, I'll stay awake and fiddle with the sound.

Overall, I am quite happy with OS X on it so far though, despite the lack of height in resolution.

Now running 10.5.7, using the incremental (aka Software Update). As long as you follow the methodology in the 10.5.7 update thread, you shouldn't have any issues.

Now onto sound..

USB BIOS Legacy Support needs to be disabled (just as it does for the Mini 9) for sleep to work correctly when the lid is closed.

Update: This fix ( http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-...html#post57551 ) for reboot after sleep also applies with the Mini 10. As I have no Bluetooth, I enabled USB BIOS Legacy Support and disabled Bluetooth in the BIOS and reboot after sleep now works correctly.
