I have read most of the posts here, and I am sure that a competent Mac/software guy could put it all together and make the 10v operational with OSX, but that is beyond my capabilities. I, like many others, have no clue about what to do with kext files in the raw. Hope you can add some detail for those of us who are technically competent, but unix and Mac ignorant. Hello, I should be receiving my 10v tomorrow by UPS here in Belgium. I also want to install OSX on it but must admit that it all still seems a bit complicated to me. I am actually still a PC user (Buerk) but am looking forwrad to using OSX. Is there any possibility for a simple tutorial for installation with fixes? Thanks a lot for all your work anguish!!! :-) |

Ok I am very interested in getting the 10v myself and being a complete noob i have some stupid questions.... 1. Is the sound card /mic working ...meaning can i make skype calls .... i dont need the external mic jack working (i think netbook has one built in) 2. Is the screen resolution exact or is it a bit off meaning some pixels are beneath the screen.. 3. is it possible to install iAtkos or Kalyway on this 10v ....anyone with some experience |

Dell cannot ship a netbook with 2GB of RAM installed. This is part of the agreement they have with Microsoft. In a further attempt to force the public to accept Vista (and try to regain ground lost to OS X and Linux) they will not allow hardware targeted for XP installation to have more than 1 GB of RAM installed. At 2GB XP really gets a performance bump that Vista doesn't get at any RAM capacity. It's dirty but the way Microsoft does business. On the upside, the Dell Mini case is easy to crack open. |

They were shipping 1GB even with Ubuntu so don't know if this is truly the case here... |

who said anything about using the pirated edition............i have got a 5 user license for leopard......with 2 macs (imac + powerbook) ... The only thing i am asking again is.........does the built in mic work .(i have tried searching the threads but couldnt find it)..........that was the reason for asking this question....the reason i asked about Iatkos was because usually such distributions come with a bundle of drivers that help sort things out.... |

Just noticed that someone has posted "NetbookBootMaker 0.8.0" on the Google code page. Searched this forum and could find no reference to such a release. Anyone know what this is? Thanks. |
