Default What model is my Dell? Please help! - 07-07-2012, 07:49 AM

Hello everyone! I'm new here, and new to the Hackintosh world. I purchased a Dell Mini 10 from a gentlemen for a very good price. The model number for the computer is PP1S9. I bought it from him with 10.6.0 installed on it, and it works perfectly. He gave me the flashdrive with all the necessary things to re-install the OS if it is needed, but I really want to upgrade it to 10.6.7. Can I follow any of the guides I've read on here? Or do I need to follow a different guide because I have no idea how to identify the various Mini 10 models. Any and all help/links would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

you can use the Service Tag Number located on the bottom of the machine and go to the Dell Support Site and enter the tag number and it will tell you all about that machine, but being as where its running OSX it most likely is a 1011 (Mini 10v).....it is the most easily hackintoshable Mini, also if it has a VGA port on it and not a HDMI port then it is NOT a 1010 so you can eliminate that so its either a 1011,1012 or 1018, but like I already said its probably a 1011 but to be sure use the tag number at Dell Support to confirm it...

PS. Welcome to the forum....

It is a Mini 10v. Thank you very much! Now that I have that figured out, now what guide would you recommend for me? One other thing... I kind of hate the trackpad, and I've tweaked the settings for it, but I can't quite get it the way I want. Do you have any tips for that? Thanks for all the help!

Default Best touchpad settings - 08-16-2012, 06:02 PM

I've got some really great touchpad settings, but I'll have to post them below because my post count is too low to post images.

The touchpad kinda sucks anyway, so it might actually be functioning alright.

However, modelsown on this very forum posted these settings and said they were pretty great:
