Hi and thanks for what is an incredible site.

I have two mini10v netbooks.
Using guides and help here I have one running perfect on 10.6.7 so thank you.

I have a second 10v that I would like to install osx onto but it has a broken lcd.
This obviosly means I can only use an external monitor (installed Windows 7 fine this way) but I would love to install osx onto it but is this possible if I cannot see the laptop screen to apply the documented fixes?
Any ideas welcome & thanks in advance.

edit: Just to add, I don't wish to mirror this screen but use it as a primary only display.

Hi Mike, yes I thought of that as an option but as you know its a case of doing a strip down of my good working 10v and if theres an alternative method?

I don't wish to mirror the display but use it as a switched display on boot up (which it does from start pressing the external monitor button on the 10v)

Is this the same as mirror and will I run into the same osx mirror problem?
Once switched will it use the external monitor as the primary, ignoring the 10v screen as it does in Windows?

Ok a little update, it has indeed installed but!!!!
All the way up to the desktop I get the apple logo as normal on my second screen, on opening the desktop it then uses the second screen as an extended area.
Any ideas how I can access anything from this extended area so I can apply mirror and fix it?
How frustrating.

Swapping HDs is not as daunting a task as you may think. I'd go that route. Change the appropriate settings, and swap back.

Thank you, yes it would of been a final option to swap the drives.
I managed it.
I installed snow then used the voice assistant to set it up (real challenge lol)
Once done I was left with the original problem but lucky to be able to se around an inch or two of the right hand side of the broken screen.
felt around and opened up a safari window and finaly caught the edge so as to drag this to the extended desktop.
Downloaded teamviewer which gave me access remotely.
Used the screen setup to switch the second monitor to primary.
The rest is history.

I now have a keyboard and mouse attached, cd/dvd drive and external monitor set to 1280 x 1024.
Basically creating a mini dell desktop for home to compliment my mini dell portable.
Love it, the mini dell was given to me due to the damaged screen and keyboard so now it's utilized nicely at home.
Maybe an upgrade to 2 gig ddr2 to finish it off.

Using my Windows laptop to access it I can also access both screens via Teamviewer.
