Hi there! Long ago that i installed OSX to my Mini 10v .... At the moment still running on 10.6.2 My mini running good,but i want to update to 10.6.7 to be able to run safari 5 and other things... I read hours in your great forum,but still not sure howto make my step from 10.6.2 to 10.6.7 ... I don´t want to screw up my dell mini,so can anybody pls give me a step by step guidance how to do it? Could be that this is already shown in your forum...but maybe i´m too dumb to find it... If it is too complicated i will stay on 10.6.2 .... never touch a running system ^^ Thx for help !  |

You will need two files, NBI.....351 easy to find just google and the 10.6.7 combo update from Apple, again easy to find. Run the NBI....351 (might not be necessary at this point but can't hurt) then restart. Install the 10.6.7 update but do not restart when prompted instead rerun nbi...351 then restart. If you fancy going to 10.6.8 it is a bit more involved and there are guides on this forum. HTH Mike A06 OSX10.6.8 Win7 Ubuntu 11.10 |

It might work for you without any problems. But if it doesn't, my advice would be to put your drive into a USB enclosure and install onto that and then put it back into the netbook |

Hi there! Aww... I run the NBI 351...then restart...now got a kernel panic...awww 10.6.7 combo not installed yet... HELP PLS ....i also tried to boot from my OSX-Install USB-Stick...but won´t work... stuck at the apple spinning wheel... HELP !  |

When you boot up and get the screen with the countdown press any key to stop it and type recovery=yes, the typing will appear bottom left. reinstall nbi...351 and reboot. Post back if not successful Mike A06 OSX10.6.8 Win7 Ubuntu 11.10 |

Hi Mike! When i boot up i get directly screen of kernel panic... Wich screen u mean? When i try to boot up from usb OSX? Cause bootstick not work i made a brandnew OSX copy to the stick... So wich version of Netbookmaker will be best way to make a bootable stick? I think in past i used 0.8.3 is there a better version to use? or just take 0.8.3 ? Sorry my bad english... hope u understand ... Thx |

I use netbook bootmaker 0.8.4RC1 to make my usb install stick. I use that to install OS X I then update to 10.6.7 but do not reboot when the update asks, I then run NBI351 and then reboot. It is a long time since I did a complete wipe and install. I can't remember if you need the usb stick to initially boot OS X from the hard drive and then run NBI. Perhaps someone else could chip in here. Also I think you might not get the countdown if you only have OS X installed, I think you might have to hold shift down as you boot, again if someone else can help here. Hi there! Thx for the help,i made it to make a new OSX setup to my mini...now try to restore using time machine backup.. after restore i try again to update to 10.6.7 and run NBI351.. I think the problem was that i run NBI351 and then restart,without install the combo OSX 10.6.7 So i will try now to install combo update 1st,then run NBI351 and after that will reboot... so hope it will work that way... thx  |

Hi there... So... Now i installed OSX 10.6 again...restored my account by time machine successfully... After i run NBI 351 ...install combo update... run NBI 351again... restart... Now i got grey screen again.. says need to restart computer... arghhh Any ideas? Thx for help ---------- Post added at 05:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:45 PM ---------- Hi again... Latest update: I run my install OSX-Stick...use hard disk utility...repair permissions... After i restart... During startup i press a button... type recovery=yes and was able to boot up to desktop... about my mac says running 10.6.7 Run NBI351 again... restart... same problem... So i do this all again..now again on my desktop says running 10.6.7 but realize there is no sound... (speaker symbol grey) So what to do ? run NBI again? ...seems to bring no effect... in NBI at this moment install chameleon,install extensions,regenerate DSDT,toggle remote CD is choosen... Should i choose toggle hibernation too? I leave my netbook now running for the moment on desktop...hope some hints howto fix this... Thx... |

At this point can you boot to OS X without the usb stick and without recovery=yes ? I have read that some people have run an older version of nbi to get back sound but then have to run 351 again to fix something else. Mike A06 OSX10.6.8 Win7 Ubuntu 11.10 |
