Default Unable to install mac os x - 12-16-2011, 02:25 PM

Hi all, new to the forum,
I have recently decided to turn my dell into a hackintosh, all is working well,m whilst using a usb to boot from, only until i need to format my hard drive, my problem is that i cannot find a hard drive to physically install my os, i can find the usb with the os, but not the actual hard drive. Any solutions or any help is much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Jack

Hi Jack and welcome.
At what point can you not see your hard drive?
Just in the installer or in disk utility?
What model dell do you have?

Hi crabhunter,
Thank you, it is nice to feel welcomed into a new forum.
But i have opened the machine since and it had appeared that somehow the Hard Drive had become unplugged from the motherboard, but all is working fine now. Thank you for replying though.

Kind Regards

Jack

Good to hear. If you plan on dualbooting windows note that you have to format the drive in the windows install first to set the drive to gpt, then format to ntfs and assign the letter c:.
