Hello, I am new to this Hackintosh thing, so please bear with me..

I installed LS 10.6.3 on my Dell 10v with success.
Everything was working properly, including the sound and Wifi.
I heard about updating to 10.6.8 causing problems for some people, so I just updated everything except OS itself.
It seemed like everything was ok for awhile, but now, I realize my Wifi does not work.
Airport is recognized and does scan for networks, but when a network is selected, it has a problem getting IP address.
It just self-assignes an IP address, and I cannot connect to the Internet.
I reinstalled SL, but the problem does not go away.
I have looked at various threads on the forum, yet I couldn't find solution.

If someone knows a solution for my problem, please help me!

I just tested with Ethernet cable too, and it has the same problem with ethernet.
Any ideas?

I did single user boot, and it did allow me to have the Internet back for about a minute. However, the problem continues to live on...
I tried deleting SL and installed Windows 7, and still the same problem.
My Dell Mini recognizes signals from routers, but no IP address.

Now I'm back on SL, and my Macbook Pro with Lion is working fine with the network.
It is a school wifi network, so unfortunately, I can't test with the router.
I didn't get mini for heavy internet use, but still, it's quite annoying not to have it when I know I can have it.
Please help!

Check your BIOS settings. Make sure the wi-fi and ethernet didn't get turned off.

Both On Board Lan Control and WLAN Control are enabled..

Download and install the 10.6.7 combo update, before it reboots run NBI xxx523 or w/e then when you reboot, run NBI 0.8.3pre and it should work well

Updated and ran 0.8.5 pre because I couldn't find 0.8.3...
Updated successfully, but still no Internet...

Ah I saw you mention it also didn't work in Windows. Did you also see access points in Windows and if so did it have the same issue where it wouldn't connect? It only happens with the schools wifi? They must have blacklisted your mac address in the wifi settings. Try spoofing your mac address.

Yeah, it seems like you're right! I am using a different network now, and it is working fine.
