Default White screen with cursor after installing and updating to OSX 10.5.8 - 09-18-2011, 03:47 AM

I finally got around to attempting to turn my Dell Mini 10v into a Hackintosh today by following this guide (the first method):

Everything worked perfectly up until the step after installing the 10.5.8 Combo Update.

It says I should see a grey screen with the progress bar, but after the Dell logo load-up screen, I get a Chameleon boot screen with the choice of the Mac OS X Install USB or the HDD with the new and updated OSX. Whenever I try to boot from the HDD, I get the Apple logo and a rotating wheel, after that just a white screen and a cursor, but never anything more.

Does anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it? A huge thanks in advance!

Pull your USB install drive hold the shift key and try -x at boot up. If you aren't seeing the progress bar it is because Silent Boot is enabled in NBI.

Or try booting from your thumb drive with NBI on it and re-run NBI again.

I haven't done a 10.5.x install in a long time, but I remember people having issues with 10.5.8.
