We do not permit discussion of "copies" of OS X discs other than those you made of a retail disc you purchased yourself. Pay the $25-$30 and buy the Apple retail disc.

Retail paid for.... - 07-30-2011, 04:44 PM
Sorry when I said "and three diffferent "retail" copies I meant actual used copies - 1 from amazon, 1 from ebay, and 1 from a local used software store. Obviously someone has sold me an install disc. I'm not being cheap....I have so far spent £80.00+ pounds on getting this to work.

I have made some progress using one of the other disks ( I bought) and now stuck at the Mac Installer. It says "
You cannot install Mac OS X on this volume. Mac OS X cannot start up from this volume.
I am assuming I have got the partitioning incorrect. Any ideas on how to fix this from inside the installer or will I need to get G parted back up and running?

Please read my signature and go from there regarding the fact you now have an osx running on your Dell Mini 10v. Upgrade with caution, and use the new nbi ending in 51 if you proceed. BTW, Lion will NOT run on the Dell mini 10V nor the Inspiron 910
