Default Battery not recognised - OSX & 10v - 07-27-2011, 04:37 PM

All,

I've been running my little 10v for the last year with no problems, until the charger died. I've since bought a new Dell charger and plugged it in.
Upon doing this the red/white light is lit and is refusing to recognise either of my 2 OE dell batteries. The first is a 6-cell and a relatively unused 3-cell

Any ideas?
I have't got windows to downgrade the Bios, which is the only thing i've found when trawling the search function.

Dell Mini10v with a fresh install of Snow Leopard on a A06 bios, 2gb Ram and 100gb 7200rpm HDD.
Newly ran Netbookinstaller 8.4.1 rc1

Cheers
Jason

Is the charger you bought a good quality one?

Have you tried to use another charger along with another battery?

Bad quality charger may damage the battery and the components on the mainboard.

New charger is a dell replacement so I'm assuming it should be good quality
Hmmmm

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Hello, I had similar issues with my mini 9. In my case it was not from the charger, but I replaced the battery.
The downgrade to A04 didn't give any positive result, so I started to downgrade to even lower BIOS versions. I found out that it works with A01 and A02.
But this is not all. Now if I plug out the charger, red white blinking starts and when I plug it in, the blinking continues. So the computer has to be powered off (not rebooted), then plug in the charger and power it.

Hope it will be helpfull
