I have a Dell 10v Mini that I loaded SnowLeopard on using the Gizmodo instructions.
That all went well.
I made the mistake of using an admin password that I can't remember now even with the password hint.
So I'm trying to reset the password.
On the Mac it;s straight forward by booting off the install disk.
I tried this with the Dell and keep getting a Kernel Panic.
What I did so far is to prepare another 8GB USB drive using the latest instructions. Used Mac formatting before I did the restore (for the original install I used MBR).
I then prepared that USB drive using Netbookbootmaker 0.8.4 RC1
Booted the Dell holding down the F8 key, I get two hard drive icons on the Dell, the OSXDVD which is the USB drive I just prepared and the HD one which is OS 10.6.3 that is already on the Dell.
When I select the USB drive which I assume would be equivalent to the OSX install disk, I get the apple logo for a few seconds and then a Kernel panic which says:
Unable to find driver for this platform.
I tried that a few times with always the same result.
Any suggestions where to go from here?
Thanks
