I don't have this unstable sound problem anymore, What I did was just use my backup of AppleHDA.kext from 10.6.2 backup that used NBI 0.8.3 Final (not the NBI 351), I used it to replace the AppleHDA.kext on the NBI 351 (located on: /contents/resources/supportfiles/machine/general/10.6.3localextensions/).
I deleted AppleHDA.kext on S/L/E, run the NBI 351 (that had replaced the AppeHDA inside it), repairing disk permissions, and restart my mini, now my sound always work.

I don't have any backups.
My mini9 is still running 10.6.0. Do think I can pull the .kext from there?

What Audio kext do you use on your Mini 9?
Is it VodooHDA or AppleHDA?

It is AppleHDA.

So I assume I can use this.
And also it wouldn't work if I just copied it manually to the 10v and not install it through NBI?

Yes, I've tried to copy it manually to S/L/E, and I had no sound.

Alternatively, you can download the NBI that I had replaced the AppeHDA.kext and also modded IOBluetoothFamily.kext (enable to turn off bluetooth) here : http://www.speedyshare.com/files/293...ni_10v.app.zip
First you need to delete the AppeHDA.kext and IOBluetoothFamily.kext from /System/Library/Extensions/
run the NBI I've uploaded, then perform repair disk permissions using disk utility, and restart your Mini after repair disk permissions completed.

Have you edited the machine.plist instructed here (post #10):

Didn't work for me either. But I appreciate the effort.
Think I'll try a usb headset and see if that works.

I'm happy to hear that, but since I'm still on 10.6.7 (I don't have time to download 10.6.8 update) I don't know whether the sound will always come or not after every boot.

my question: can you turn off the bluetooth?
