i have reinstalled several times and i feel there is something wrong when install the ....51 NBI. It may be a confliction with software i have but its never right. boots almost to the point were its ready to go but i never see my desktop. If i boot into recovery i get my desktop but no keyboard and mouse, speakers etc. what is the deal? why is this working for everyone but me?

Log in using recovery=y, use an external keyboard and mouse, run nbi351. That should fix it.

Cheers.

Hey thanks for your help! I have tried that several times and it does not work...

It boots all the way up but it goes the the blue screen with the mouse (can move the mouse), which is the screen i usually see briefly before my wallpaper and dock come up. It just sits there forever. Is it my bios? (A05). So frustrating 10.6.0 worked perfect with 0.8.3.

Does anyone know how to clean mac start up? I looked in the accounts>startup items and turned everything off......

***UPDATE***
I have isolated the problem. There is an interaction between the new bootloader (NBI) and one of the programs I am installing. I am slowly installing each program one by one, I have gotten down to five left and I am still rebooting nicely.

---------- Post added at 02:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:10 PM ----------

***UPDATE***
So I have not installed the other programs yet. I am at work on my office computer while the 10v is turned on next to me, running OSX 10.6.7 with NBI 51. Just now while its running the screen randomly turns on (the screen just went dim not sleeping) and I look over and see that its broken again. I know it will no longer boot because I look and see that there is no sound (x over the speaker when i try to turn up or down the volume). Its like there is a kill switch that initiated.

I just reinstalled the NBI51 and rebooted and everything was normal.........GOD WHY!!!!!!

My questions about the speedsteping on 10.6.7 with the ...351 nbi:

Does speedsteping work perfectly without using smbios.plist from macbook pro 5.1?

If it still needs smbios.plis from mbp 5.1, what are the side effects of using it, since the specs of mini 10v are very different from mbp 5.1 ?

Updated from 10.6.5 - 10.6.7 without a hitch. Downloaded Combo Update, ran NBI 51, installed update, ran NBI 51 again. Rebooted. Didn't have to wait, no NBI logo (which i was expecting to sit there for 10 minutes), booted in the normal time/way.

All good.

Upgrading straight from 10.6, hope that's not a problem.
When booting I get the Apple and spinning wheel. After 2 minutes a "Not Symbol" icon (circle with a line through it) appears. The wheel keeps spinning.
Have let it run 20 minutes without change.
Booted in Recovery but get the same.

I tried the:
NBI, update, NBI, boot method.

update:
After several tries I was able to get into recovery and ran NBI again.
Still fails for normal boot

So, what's the best NBI to run for 10.6.7? I just installed 10.6.3 (10v) and want to run the combo update to 10.6.7 but I'm not sure if i should run 0.8.4 RC1, 0.8.5 Pre, or 351 (which i'm still not to clear on; is that the same thing as NBI 0.8.4 Special? Where is that located anyway & what's different about it?)

Gah, cheers for asking, backing up 10.6.1 on mini9, in prep for an attempt at upgrade.
