Noticed there is a Mac OS X v10.6.7 Update and a Mac OS X v10.6.7 Update Combo. OS X v10.6.7 Update Combo is 1.12 GB . OS X v10.6.7 Update is 475 MB. Any difference besides the size?

Mac OS X v10.6.7 Update - System Requirements - Mac OS X v10.6.6
Mac OS X v10.6.7 Update Combo - System Requirements - Mac OS X v10.6 – Mac OS X 10.6.6
So the Update version updates 10.6.6 while the Combo appears to update OS X 10.6 up thru 10.6.6.

Update from 10.6.6 ->10.6.7 went smooooth.
I downloaded and ran the 10.6.7 combo update and just let the mini restart when it was done.
The NBI logo appeared for a few minutes like usual. Mini restarted when NBI was done with the magic.... normal mac logo appeared.
Ta-da. Sweet. Thank you Meklort!
So glad I got this mini.

When booting, hold the Shift key until you see your hard drive as a boot option, then type Recovery=y and hit enter.

Finally got it to work. - 04-11-2011, 01:00 AM
Took many tries but finally it is running. I first tried doing a straight update off of 10.6.6 using nbi ending in 51 but it didn't work which didn't surprise me considering my 10.6.6 was unstable.
So I went with a fresh install. Reformatted the hd and reinstalled 10.6.3 from my USB stick.
Here is what happened after I got back to a fresh 10.6.3 install. All these attempts were done on a freshly reformatted hd and a copy of my brand new 10.6.3 install. Every time I ran NBI.....51 it was done with the default settings (ie: I didn't check any boxes, jus opened and ran it).
Try #1: Failure
No matter how many times I tried to do recovery=y it didn't work
Try #2: Failure
Try #3: Success
This build is much more stable then ,y 10.6.6 build. Faster and not as jittery. Sound and wifi are ok. Bluetooth is always on but I will not do the Bluetooth fix as I think that is what caused the instability with on my previous build.
I am currently using migration assistant to transfer my apps from my 10.6.6 backup and will reclone this stable build over that faulty 10.6.6 backup
For anyone thinking about an update I strongly suggest having a backup build of your core os based on your install cd. Once you have created a core backup you can boot into it and migrate your apps to it and put it away just in case.
I have 2 backups. A 10.6.3 backup that has all the different OSX updates on it as well as all the NBI builds with my apps and files. I also have a 2nd backup of my current OS build. VERY CONVINIENT if you plan on messing with it.
