Default Upgrading the wifi card? - 01-18-2011, 09:23 PM

I am growing tired of the slow dell wifi card and was thinking of switching to something that supports wireless n. One obvious choice seems to be the Apple Airport Extreme- 802.11n Wireless Mini-PCIe Card seeing it's made for intel based macs, and because I'm running hackintosh this seems to make sense in my mind. But as with all things hardware related, I know it's not that simple. So is this possible, and has anyone has had success with this?

Default upgrade wifi - 01-21-2011, 08:02 PM

Hi there, i upgraded the wifi card to the dell 1510 wifi n card, not the intel that is not working.
The dell 1510 card is supported right out of the box but my internet connection speed is 60mb, wireless on the Dell is now approx. 50 Mbps , just tested ! Whith the old card it was app. 30 Mbps.
So i think you will gain some speed.

Have a Konig USB dongle instead of a new card. The dongle works very well in Win 7 as well as OSX. The performance is way better with the Konig and the n protocol.
